Apply Now for a Loan Joseph Dowd is the Senior Loan Officer in charge of the Reverse Mortgage lending program for Majestic Mortgage Corporation. Mr. Dowd has over 40+ years of government lending experience; managing and owning mortgage companies in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, before returning to his native RI. In addition to owning a real estate operation in the Nations Capitol, Mr. Dowd has also previously served as an underwriter for various programs, including FHA and VA. Mr. Dowd was born in Providence and attended high school at La Salle Academy. After graduation he entered the USAF spending the next six years in the service. He was assigned to various bases in the US as well as spending the majority of his time in Misawa,Japan as a member of the USAFSS. Upon completion of his service, he returned to RI and attended URI, graduating with a BA in political science. He then joined the Federal Government as an analyst for the Department of Defense. Shortly after joining the government, he began to work part time as a real estate agent until making the hard decision to work full time and subsequently entering into the mortgage field.
